Clapper Rail hiding at the shore's edge at Cape May
Notes¶
First seen at Cape May during Osprey Boat Tour. Shy birds that only emerge briefly onto mudflats and quickly vanish into dense marsh grasses. Their loud clattering calls are signature sounds of saltmarshes.
